Taking it to the Streets

Taking it to the Streets is a series of community BBQs that bring together Black informal workers of Chicago’s South and West sides. These gatherings serve as a welcoming space where hundreds of community members can enjoy good food and good company.

These BBQs are dedicated to building local power amongst our community members through education and engagement. We use these events to inform attendees about our ongoing campaigns, highlighting important issues and the steps we’re taking to address them. By sharing resources and opportunities for involvement, we inspire individuals to take an active role in shaping their communities.
